This course teaches creative entrepreneurs, founders, and cultural leaders how algorithmic platforms work, why they decay, and how to build a business that outlasts them. Learners will be able to name which stage a platform is in, run a structured audit of their owned versus rented assets, identify whether their web presence is a destination or an archive, and write a concrete off-platform counter-move.
The course is structured across two sections: The Platform Economy (Lessons 1.1-1.3) and Decay and the Counter-Move (Lessons 2.1-2.2). Five lessons move from foundational mechanics to applied strategy, with each lesson containing a teaching body, a summary, and a five-question comprehension check. The course ends with a twenty-question final assessment and a downloadable Platform Counter-Move Checklist for quarterly use.
Learners complete the course with a staged map of their current platform exposure, a classified asset inventory, and a written counter-move they can act on immediately.

This course provides strategic frameworks for understanding platform economics and building off-platform business infrastructure.
The examples used to illustrate platform stages and decay patterns are based on publicly documented platform behavior and are cited as analytical context, not as endorsements or criticisms of specific companies. Platform policies, terms of service, and revenue structures change frequently; learners are encouraged to verify current conditions directly with each platform before making business decisions. No action recommended in this course should be taken without reviewing how it applies to the learner's specific legal, financial, and contractual situation.
